“Celestial Power did a great job from the concept to the delivery of my rooftop solar PV system. What I liked is that from the very outset, Jim took the time to explain all of the rebates, incentives and pros and cons of different systems, components and system sizing.
Having just built a new home, I have reservations about the use of subcontractors to put together any multidisciplinary system. The great thing about my system was that everyone was on the same team, and things got put together correctly - their master electrician even pointed out where my builder had not done electrical work up to code. All the little details were taken care of, from touch up paint to super-tidy wiring on the web monitoring system. Jim even dealt with the details of getting the system through the HOA approval process for me.
Communication was excellent - when there were delays from the equipment manufacturer, I was kept up to date. I was never left in the dark about anything.

“I had been interested in solar panels for a while, but never did anything about it until a friend recommended Celestial Power. I called them and got the owner, Jim, to come and look at my house and see if it was suitable for a solar installation.
Jim impressed me with his understanding of both the technical aspects of solar power and how to work through the City of Austin’s solar program. I asked for, and received, a detailed job proposal that offered several different solar options–different numbers and arrangements of panels, different inverters, and various price/equipment options. I also got a very good explanation of how the City of Austin solar rebate program worked, how long it would take to get the rebate, and what was necessary to get approved.
They sold me on their proposal and I signed a contract with them pretty quickly. Due to some supply problems ( a fire at one of the factories that made the inverters I had chosen), Celestial Power was not able to install my panels for a couple of months. If you have ever worked with any sort of contactor, you know supply problems are not uncommon. But Celestial Power handled this difficulty very gracefully and professionally. They offered to change the contract and use other replacement parts, and always kept me in the loop. However, I was determined that I wanted that particular type of inverter, and so I waited.
While we waited, Celestial Power did the aspects of the solar installation that they could without the inverters: they put up the metal racks that would hold the panels, and replaced my breaker box, etc. There was a lot of work on my roof and my backyard, but the workers were polite, friendly, and careful about my property, my dog, and my schedule.
Once the parts arrived, they proceeded with the full install. Their electricians in particular did a very good job. My house had a history of electrical problems, and those problems largely disappeared after they replaced my breaker box. They worked fast, and in the end both the panels, the roof work, and the electrical work all looked good and worked perfectly.
Best of all, I did not have to deal too much with the City of Austin bureaucracy. Celestial Power handled all the paperwork and other details of the solar rebate program, saving me tons of money on this job. Now, every time I get an electric bill, I just smile at how small it is. A big change from the old days when I used to get $300 a month electric bills during the summer!
